Shower tile installation takes about a week. Factors to consider are.......
Are you having a custom shower pan installed with a tile floor or using a fiberglass shower pan? The kind of tile you choose. Are you adding niches/shelves or a deco accent? All these factors can effect the time frame of the installation.
Kitchen backsplash installation takes about 1-3 days depending on the size of the backsplash and the particular tile that is chosen. In most situations, a regular backsplash can be completed in one day. However, if a mosaic tile on a mesh is chosen, it will take at least two days because the tile needs to set before it can be grouted.
Fireplace tile installation takes about 1-3 days.
We highly recommend Tec Power Grout. It comes in a variety of different colors and is crack, shrink and stain resistant. We have always experienced great, long term results using this particular grout.
A niche is a recessed shampoo shelf that can be various sizes, but the standard size is about 14x24. A glass shelf can be installed in the niche as well to give it an extra storage area. Another option for shower storage is to install corner shelves. Multiple shelves in 2 different corners can be installed to give you plenty of room to put all the things you use in your shower.
We know it's a funny question, but it's something most people don't think about! When you have a walk in shower, there's nowhere for a woman to easily shave her legs without bending completely over. We all know that the older we get, the less we want to bend over at all! An easy solution.......install a lower corner shelf so that you have a place to prop up your leg and shave with ease.
You never want to just have the bare tile edge exposed, so we recommend schluter metal edging. It's a nice, modern alternative to traditional bullnose and you can match it with your current fixtures, to give everything a cohesive look.
